Hislop 'summer-of-rages' Portillo

Newsnight Review gets the big scoop. Michael Portillo and Ian Hislop sit opposite each other and are asked to review In The Loop and wildly disagree. Portillo views the film as an outdated polemic and reacts very defensively regarding Iraq. Hislop, on the other hand, thinks it is a funny contribution. Who to trust more? A previous Tory minister or the editor of the ever-reliable and hilarious Private Eye? Not to difficult a choice, I think...

But they don't just disagree. Hislop lays into Portillo in a glorious, glorious way. When Portillo opines that the film is not funny, Hislop responds by saying that "it seems it's not just Americans who lack a sense of irony". Hislop savages Portillo throughout and it is certainly worth a watch.
